What Is Yoga Nidra?
Yoga Nidra (pronounced nih-drah) is a form of guided meditation, also known as “yogic sleep”. It is most often practiced lying down with a teacher guiding the session. The goal is for the body to be completely relaxed while the mind is awake and aware of being asleep in a deeply restful state.
During the course of Yoga Nidra, you learn to surf between the states of wakefulness and sleep, where your body finds its natural state of equilibrium (homeostasis) and the breath balances and becomes quiet. In this state, you can access the subtle flow of energy (prana), in the body. One of the aims of this practice is to identify and dissolve blockages to the flow of prana.
The practice of Yoga Nidra is a deeply restful, rejuvenating and healing practice that helps to reduce anxiety, improve cognition and support restful sleep. Yoga Nidra is accessible to everyone.

Flourish Retreat
Join Sandey and Karina for a 4 day journey in beautiful Queenstown to explore natures teachings on living in alignment
14th - 17th September 2023
In the same way that the elements are the building blocks of nature, they are also the building blocks of you. The Tantric tradition teaches that, in nature (yes, you are a part of nature too), the same patterns iterate on all levels. In the same way each cell inside of you has the DNA for your whole body, you (as a ‘cell’ of the universe) contain the pattern for the whole.
‘As within, so without’.
Want to explore this?
Then join us, this September, in the spectacular South Island of New Zealand for a four day journey to remember.
As you explore the elements within, and see them reflected in the elements of the world around you, re-establish a connection with the matrix of intelligence that flows through us all.
Through daily yoga practice (in all of its forms - asana, pranayama, meditation, yoga nidra and guided contemplation), explorations of yogic philosophy, nature practices, delicious locally sourced foods and, importantly…rest….
